FAQs
| How do they work? |
|
Fire sprinklers are mechanical devices. They are individually heat activated and operate independently off any smoke alarms that may be installed. When a fire starts, the heat quickly reaches a critical temperature at ceiling level. After 1 or 2 minutes above this critical temperature a fusible link in the head melts, allowing water to flow to the activated head. When the fire is extinguished, the system is turned off with a simple manual valve.
